The incident occurred on Saturday, April 3, in one of the buildings in Zabobrze. At 5:13 a.m., firefighters received a report that two people had begun feeling unwell. Despite the windows being open, sensors in the building continued to detect the presence of carbon monoxide.

Five people were evacuated. Three of them suffered carbon monoxide poisoning, two so seriously that they were taken to hospital.

The operation involved two units from the Bolesławiec County State Fire Service Headquarters and two emergency medical teams.

Today, the following post appeared on the Facebook service The Bad Bunzlauer:

We would like to sincerely thank the team of firefighters who took part in helping us after we were poisoned by carbon monoxide in Zabobrze (the operation took place on Saturday at 5 a.m.). The speed with which the gentlemen arrived to help us and the professionalism with which they looked after us inspire our deep respect and gratitude.
