It is expensive, and it will get even more expensive
Since January 2021, electricity bills have been even higher. This is all because of the so-called capacity charge, which has been added to every bill since the start of the new year. The average additional charge is approximately PLN 10 per month, or as much as PLN 120 per year. In this way, power plants want to “bypass” the decision of the Energy Regulatory Office, which froze electricity price increases.
Photovoltaics – a way to get free electricity
There is, however, a way to reduce these charges and even completely limit the amount of electricity drawn from the power grid. We are, of course, talking about photovoltaic panels, which convert solar energy into free electricity.
This makes it possible to reduce electricity bills and, consequently, minimize the capacity charge. If solar panels fully cover the demand for electricity, the capacity charge will not be applied at all. If you produce more electricity than you can use, the energy operator will “store” the surplus. You will be able to use it when your own energy resources run out.
Generating electricity from the sun helps reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, so by installing photovoltaic panels, you not only save money but also take care of our planet.
What is the government’s “Mój Prąd” program?
The government’s “Mój Prąd” program, aimed at households, allows them to receive a refund for part of the cost of a photovoltaic installation. The program attracted considerable interest during the previous application round. The government recently confirmed that the program would continue in 2021.
Who should you commission to install the system?
A photovoltaic installation is an investment costing many thousands of złotys, so it is worth commissioning professionals to carry it out. Mirosław Kumosz of T-Energia explains what to pay attention to.
“Collecting offers is half the battle. The other half is selecting a reliable contractor,” emphasizes Mirosław Kumosz. “We have been building home photovoltaic power plants for years, so we know perfectly well that working on a project involves more than just installation. The first step is a free meeting with the client, an assessment of installation possibilities, and an analysis of the energy needs of a given household or company. We then select the appropriate technology and only afterwards proceed with professional installation. If necessary, we also advise clients on how to apply for a subsidy or help them obtain favorable financing. Support at every stage of project implementation is extremely important, which is why so many clients have placed their trust in us,” adds Mirosław Kumosz.
