The incident occurred on Sunday, 21 March. Volunteer firefighters from Nowogrodziec:

Alert! […] at 4 p.m. While handing out a leaflet in one of the residential houses in Zabłocie, residents informed us about smoke in the building. Upon entering, firefighters found smoke-filled rooms; the carbon monoxide detector showed values several times above the permitted limits!

The interview established that the two people living in the building had been in that area for several hours. An emergency medical team was called.

They added:

During operations involving extinguishing the fire in the stove and checking the chimney flue, one of the people began feeling much worse. The general symptoms confirmed carbon monoxide poisoning, including weakness, drowsiness, dizziness and nausea. Oxygen therapy was administered. As a routine measure, one unit from the Bolesławiec JRG was dispatched to the scene.

After the medical rescue team arrived, the injured person was handed over to them. The probable cause of the incident was a blocked chimney flue. The operation ended after the building was ventilated.

On the same day, the Nowogrodziec firefighters also intervened in Milików:

[…] at 9 p.m., an emergency call to Milików: gas detector alarm. Upon arrival, the building was evacuated, a total of 9 people; the gas valve was turned off and the electricity supply was disconnected.

A unit from the Bolesławiec JRG arrived with a specialised multi-gas detector, which showed no elevated readings. The operation ended with a formal recommendation not to use the gas installation until it had been inspected by a qualified person in this field.
