We are receiving further reports that some letters and parcels are reaching their recipients late. Justyna Siwek, spokesperson for Poczta Polska:

UP Bolesławiec Śląski 1 is operating with a reduced number of delivery staff, partly due to the epidemiological situation, including unplanned sick leave. We are carrying out deliveries on an ongoing basis, including on an ad hoc basis on Saturdays. The office has already been supported by assigning postmen from other offices, and we are supplementing staffing through contracts for specific tasks.

She adds:

The head of the office is trying to use the available staffing resources optimally in order to eliminate potential delays in delivering correspondence. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Poczta Polska has not stopped providing services, because in line with our company’s new strategy, we are a trusted national operator and, despite many restrictions and difficulties, including a higher number of absences—which is unavoidable during this difficult time for all of us—we continue to fulfil our social mission.
