Officers from Bolesławiec County detained a man suspected of stealing fuel. The suspect is a 37-year-old resident of Bolesławiec. Police proved that the Bolesławiec resident had committed four thefts worth a total of more than PLN 2,000.
KPP:
The detained man's modus operandi was the same each time. The 37-year-old borrowed a van from a friend and changed its registration plates. He then drove to a petrol station, where he filled it with more than 100 litres of diesel fuel, and drove away without paying. The next step was draining the fuel from the vehicle's tank and selling it. The man spent the money obtained through his criminal activities on everyday needs.
Importantly, while carrying out his scheme, the suspect violated the court-imposed driving ban each time.
In total, the 37-year-old was charged with eight offences. He now faces between three months and as many as five years in prison.
