A reader informed our editorial office about a failure at the railway crossing on Polna Street in Bolesławiec. The incident took place on Wednesday, February 24. As the reader described it, three of the four barriers went up. For some reason, one remained in place. (Everything can be seen in the video).
Reader: – And the cars are standing there. Then suddenly some of them start driving, and it is not known whether something has broken down or someone got confused.
First, one car crossed the tracks, then a woman with two children walked across (one of them in a stroller). After some time, the entire procession set off. “What if a locomotive had happened to be passing at that moment?” the reader asks rhetorically.
The Bolesławiec resident tried to report the failure to the facility operator by pressing the emergency button several times. Unsuccessfully.
As he pointed out, there are frequent problems with this crossing: “It’s absurd. Instead of quickly raising and lowering, the barriers lower and then nothing passes for three minutes. And queues form all the way to the bypass or Chrobry Street.”
We asked PKP PLK for comment on the matter. We will publish the response as soon as we receive it. What do you think about the whole situation? We invite you to join the discussion.
