Modernization of the operating theatre and the anesthesiology and intensive care department is underway at the Zespół Opieki Zdrowotnej in Bolesławiec. Construction work and equipment purchases will cost PLN 8 million. Once the work is completed, scheduled for the second half of 2021, the operating theatre and intensive care unit will occupy the entire second floor of the hospital’s main building.
More about the operating theatre
Three operating rooms, each adapted for a different type of procedure, a full anesthesiology support area, new medical equipment and devices, and modern air-conditioning and ventilation systems. A new medical-gas supply installation is being fitted in every room, including rooms directly beside patients’ beds.
One of the operating rooms will be designated for orthopedic and traumatology procedures. The second room is dedicated to gynecology, and the third to general surgery.
A postoperative room is planned next to the operating theatre. This will significantly improve care for patients after procedures and enhance patient safety.
The section of the department for patients requiring intensive medical care will include one isolation room and eight beds in a general ward room, including one reserve bed.
ZOZ:
The new operating theatre, together with the use of the most modern medical systems, will significantly increase the safety of patients undergoing surgery and receiving perioperative care.
A larger number of operating rooms and intensive care beds will allow the range of procedures performed to be significantly expanded.
The hospital adds:
The organization and equipment of the departments have been designed to enable the treatment of people infected with COVID-19 without exposing other patients to risk.
Construction has begun outside the building on an elevator that will serve all floors of the hospital.
