A modular hospital was opened in Legnica today. The city followed in Bolesławiec’s footsteps. (The facility in Legnica was built by the same company, incidentally.) It is therefore worth revisiting how the one in Bolesławiec was built. Below, we present an exceptional video produced by Stefańczyk Studio. Notably, the video has never before been published in its entirety anywhere:

What do you think? We invite you to join the discussion.

Let us recall. At the end of November last year, we reported that the new modular hospital in Bolesławiec was ready to receive patients. Efficient cooperation between the regional government, local authorities and the management of the county hospital in Bolesławiec made it possible to build and equip the new facility within 3.5 months. Thanks to the involvement of the regional government, the investment, worth more than PLN 8 million, was financed entirely from EU funds. After the pandemic ends, the modular hospital will continue to serve patients, for example as a long-term care facility.

“Since the beginning of the epidemic, the county hospital in Bolesławiec has been on the front line in the fight against the coronavirus and is one of the main centers treating COVID-19 patients in Lower Silesia. Construction of the container hospital began in the summer and was one of the elements of preparations to combat the next wave of the epidemic. As the regional government, we financed the construction and equipping of the hospital in full, allocating PLN 8.2 million from EU funds for this purpose,” said Cezary Przybylski from Bezpartyjni Samorządowcy.

The modular hospital treats people infected with SARS-CoV-2. The decision to build it was made in the summer and was one of the elements of preparing the region’s healthcare system for another wave of the coronavirus epidemic. Construction work began in mid-August and was completed on October 1. During this time, a building with an area of nearly 1,300 square meters was finished and equipped, with capacity for 65 beds, including 12 ventilator beds.

The hospital is modern and provides comfortable conditions for patients as well as full facilities for medical staff. Single-, double- and triple-bed rooms with bathrooms are standard features of the hospital. Patients will be treated with the most effective therapies available in the medical market by a qualified, experienced team of nearly 60 people.
