On February 8, 2021, the District Commander of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec announced the recruitment of candidates for preparatory service in the position of trainee, ultimately intended to become an operations duty officer at the District Commander's Command Center, and for the position of trainee, ultimately intended to become a senior rescuer in the Rescue and Firefighting Unit. Applications may be submitted until February 22, 2021.
What will the duty system be?
A 24-hour-on, 48-hour-off shift system.
What are the requirements?
Candidates for service in the State Fire Service must meet the following mandatory criteria:
- hold Polish citizenship,
- have no criminal record for an offense or a tax offense,
- enjoy full public rights,
- have at least secondary or secondary vocational education,
- be physically and mentally capable of serving,
- have a regulated military service status (meaning completion of basic military service or transfer to the reserve without completing that service, or release from the obligation to perform military service). This does not apply to women.
District State Fire Service Command:
A candidate for the position ultimately intended to be an operations duty officer will actively participate in rescue and firefighting operations for at least the first five years of service. After moving to the District Commander's Command Center, in addition to the duties provided for an operations duty officer, they will also perform additional IT-related tasks.
Therefore, during recruitment to the Operations Department of the District State Fire Service Command, IT education and additional courses in this field will receive extra points.

Candidates who meet the above conditions are sought—people ready to take on additional duties and willing to improve their qualifications, which offers the prospect of promotion to the officer corps, provided for the position of operations duty officer. Trainee salaries start at PLN 3,100 net per month. In addition to this salary, firefighters of the State Fire Service receive other statutory benefits.
