As a result of signing the agreement, Bolesławiec District will receive funding for 26 public transport routes. The district has so far been a leader among local governments benefiting from the Public-Utility Bus Transport Development Fund. PKS currently reaches the district’s most remote localities, enabling residents to use public transport.

As part of carrying out the district’s task of meeting collective transport needs, Bolesławiec District has also established cooperation with the municipalities in the area of Bolesławiec District, producing results expected by residents.

The development of public-utility bus transport, commonly known as the bus fund, is a system of state-budget subsidies for every kilometre travelled. Participation in the programme requires financial contributions, as well as the development and maintenance of routes by the transport organiser and operator.

The district governor Tomasz Gabrysiak signed the first agreement with the voivode in August 2019. As a result, Bolesławiec District launched the largest number of new bus routes among all Lower Silesian local governments at that time: 25. The current agreement covers as many as 26 bus routes with a total length of 1,460 km. The total subsidy amounts to as much as PLN 2,652,036.34, while the district’s own contribution is PLN 336,703.26.
