As we read on the Facebook profile of Lwówek na sygnale:
Another Volunteer Fire Service unit has been targeted by thieves. In December 2020, there was a break-in and equipment theft at the OSP Sędzimirów unit; the thieves took most of the equipment. Today, [w niedzielę, 24 stycznia – przyp. istotne.pl] we received a message that there had been an attempted break-in at OSP Brochocin. This is a unit that, in addition to responding to typical fire and accident calls, also searches for missing people using a specialist drone.
Firefighters on the attempted break-in
The editorial team states:
This time, the alarm system successfully scared the thieves away. The theft could have resulted in the unit being unable to save lives and protect health.
And adds:
Why are we writing about this? We ask everyone!!! Pay attention to whether someone is loitering without purpose near an OSP unit in the evening or at night—call 112 immediately. […] We ask firefighters and OSP commanders to inspect their alarm systems, check that they are working, and visit their units more often. A group of thieves has clearly made robbing OSP units its target. We hope they will be caught soon, but for now we simply need to stay vigilant.
We reported on the theft in Sędzimirów in the article: They robbed firefighters of rescue and firefighting equipment! We are helping!
Firefighters on the theft
We once commented on this scandalous situation in a similar way, but it is probably worth repeating: what kind of absolute fool do you have to be to rob firefighters?! We would also add that theft is punishable by three months to five years in prison, while burglary carries a sentence of one to ten years behind bars.
