The incident took place on Friday, January 22, after 5:00 p.m. at the Dino store on Jana Pawła II Street in Bolesławiec. According to information from our reader, the man entered the store and appeared to be drunk, and before the incident he had allegedly argued with a cashier in the store. After exchanging words with the woman, the man allegedly reached for something sharp and cut himself between the shelves. The shelves were covered in blood. The man, who was losing consciousness, was carried outside the store. The ambulance that had been called arrived. Paramedics administered an IV drip to the man.
As can be seen in the photographs sent by another reader, there is a lot of blood in the parking lot in front of the store. Unconfirmed information also appeared online, circulated by internet users on social media platforms, suggesting that the injury may have been a suicide attempt.
The police spokesperson confirms that an argument with the cashier took place. The police only provided support to the paramedics.
“Indeed, a man injured himself in front of the store,” says Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, spokesperson for the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters. “The store employee is his former girlfriend, and he spoke with her. He was taken to hospital, while the police only assisted the paramedics,” the spokesperson reports.
