Karolina Puchała-Mielczarek studied psychodietetics and food technology and human nutrition at the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences. She works at the Psychopedagogical Society. We will talk to Karolina about what a visit to a psychodietitian looks like and how such a visit differs from a visit to a dietitian. We will also discuss how and why people lose weight. What body positivity is, what beauty culture is, and how to lose weight in harmony with yourself, fully accepting yourself as you are. The interview is not only for women; we invite everyone interested to ask questions. Wednesday, January 13 at 6:00 p.m. on our website and fan page.
Karolina Puchała-Mielczarek:
At the beginning of the year, the most common topic discussed with a psychodietitian is weight loss, but there are also underweight people who want to gain weight.
It is important to consider where the idea of losing weight comes from: whether it is an individual decision or an assessment and suggestion from those around us.
A person should learn to listen to themselves.
If you want to lose weight, you first need to accept yourself, build self-acceptance and improve your self-esteem.
You need to ask yourself what you like about yourself and find one such thing.
Then set yourself a goal, for example, “I want to lose one kilogram,” and then set another goal.
It is important not to go too far in either direction. The point is not to deny yourself everything.
Eating a cookie from time to time is not a life tragedy.
You need to learn to eat healthily.
A diet must be our own choice; it cannot be imposed by those around us.
You should set small goals and achieve them gradually. Do not start with a major goal.
It would be good if swimsuits were presented on people with ordinary bodies.
There are different standards of beauty. Some men like blondes with long legs, while others prefer women who are more curvaceous.
I do not recommend a diet prepared from above for a particular group. I approach each person individually.
Above all, the point is for a person to feel good about themselves.
