This year, due to the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic, the scouts were unable to pass on the symbolic flame, traditionally lit in the Grotto of the Nativity in Bethlehem. The female and male scouts passed the flame to Iwona Mandżuk-Dudek, First Deputy Mayor of Bolesławiec, and Tomasz Gabrysiak, Bolesławiec County Starost, at the Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Bolesławiec.
The light was taken to the St. Joseph Children’s Home run by the Congregation of the Elisabeth Sisters in Bolesławiec and presented to Sister Agnieszka Wieczorek, Director of the institution, together with gifts from the Starost.
