Our Reader asked us to publicize the matter. In an email to the editorial office, they wrote: “Some time ago, the asphalt was removed at the intersection of Tysiąclecia, Asnyka and Chrobrego, leaving rather high steps. After a few days, the central part of the intersection was covered with asphalt, but only up to a certain level. The steps remained.” They added: “The worst is when you drive from Tysiąclecia and turn into Chrobrego. This lane looks like a bomb crater. And that is exactly how it feels to drive over it. Actually, you cannot drive through there, because you have to brake to a complete stop.”

Dolnośląska Służba Dróg i Kolei is responsible for renovating the intersection. “The characteristic steps are not defects, but result from the technology used to construct the road surface. These are special cuts for the successive layers of the surface being laid, as each layer has a specified thickness and this is the only way to mark it out precisely,” explains Joanna Jarocka, spokesperson for DSDiK. “The cuts will disappear once the road-surface renovation is completed,” she adds.

Drivers will have to be patient. The renovation is scheduled to be completed at the end of November this year. The investment is worth PLN 900,000.
