How can we find our way in this situation? How can we help through a positive attitude or even small gestures? Competitions and joint discussions help people become accustomed to this unusual situation. Spreading knowledge among young people about individual protection in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, as well as shaping their imagination and creative inventiveness, developing their talents, teaching them to use various artistic techniques, finally enabling them to present their artistic work and shaping a positive image of the school – these are the main aims of the competition entitled “You Wear It, You Don’t Spread It”.
The Education, Culture and Sport Department of the Bolesławiec County Office, inspired by an earlier campaign by Bolesławiec’s PKS, organized a competition aimed directly at young people from secondary schools in the county. Students had the opportunity to test themselves in many forms: a poster, a design for an original face mask or the production of a film about the coronavirus.
Some schools approached the task with great commitment. For example, the “Media Team” from the Electronic Schools Complex recorded two interesting films, which can be viewed here:

The first is about protection against a dangerous disease; the second is an interview with Kamil Barczyk, the director of the Bolesławiec hospital,Kamil Barczyk about “everyday COVID reality”. In addition, the school organized a competition for a preventive social poster to promote responsible behavior during the pandemic. The group was supervised by Ms Krystyna Andres-Wędzina.
Students of the Construction Schools Complex, guided by Ms Katarzyna Tomczyk-Jakubowska, proposed interesting, original face masks, proving that humor should not leave us even when we encounter a difficult experience. Handicrafts became closer to the students of the General and Vocational Schools Complex, who, under the supervision of Ms Danuta Jarosz, proposed masks as an individual addition to everyday clothing.
The prize will go to the students of the Electronic Schools Complex, who proved unbeatable in the competition. The prize is a large St. Nicholas’ Day basket of sweets. Congratulations, and enjoy!
