Primary School No. 5 has been working on the basis of an eTwinning project for the third consecutive year, because these methods have for several years been regarded as exemplary and worth emulating in 21st-century education. They also bring students much satisfaction and joy. The exchange of experiences and cooperation with committed eTwinning teachers makes it possible to plan and conduct classes according to the highest-rated European standards.
The eTwinning programme supports the comprehensive development and engagement of every student in the learning process, while enabling teachers to constantly update their knowledge and learn about modern tools and materials.
This school year, our school is carrying out seven eTwinning projects, including six international ones. They involve Classes 1a, 1b, 3a and 3b. The projects cover various subjects. Students are learning to code and program. They observe peers from other countries and acquire new skills, all through the Imagine The Code and Encoded for fun projects.
In the Child in Art project, we explore visual arts and music. The coordinator is our school’s teacher Dorota Stanałowska, while participants include teachers and students from Italy, Greece, Turkey, Romania, Georgia and Poland. Pantomime and body percussion are new experiences in the For the Power of My Dreams project. Students are also taking part in the fairy-tale-themed project Let’s Go To Fairyland. They have the opportunity to learn about Polish fairy tales and those of other nations, and then present them using drama.
The Polish project Kierunek bezpieczeństwo has just ended. For two months, students worked with 28 classes from across the country on broadly understood safety issues at school and on the street. The latest project, Steamist, is connected with STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
The coordinator of the activities described במסגרת the eTwinning programme is Ms Dorota Stanałowska, who carries out her own and partner projects with tremendous commitment, has devised many of them and successfully encourages other teachers and students to cooperate.
