The duty officer at the Chojnów Police Station received information that, in Okmiany, on the premises of one of the workplaces, a security guard had detained a truck driver. The latter clearly smelled of alcohol.
Sub-Inspector Jagoda Ekiert, press officer of the Legnica Municipal Police Headquarters:
Police officers from the Prevention Unit immediately went to the scene. A breathalyzer test showed that the 54-year-old had 2.4 per mille of alcohol in his breath. The resident of Proszowice County had his driving licence confiscated.
The spokeswoman adds:
The 54-year-old will now answer for his irresponsible behavior before the court. Driving while intoxicated carries a penalty of up to two years in prison, a driving ban and a heavy fine.
