As Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy reported at the end of October:

In this way, we want to support hospitals struggling with organizational problems resulting from the current situation, while also ensuring continuity of treatment for patients with health problems other than coronavirus. So far, increasingly concerning information has reached the Foundation about beds being transferred—beds that WOŚP had purchased, among other things, for geriatric wards.

Jerzy Owsiak appealed at the time:

Just a few weeks ago, we were fighting this and saying—try not to dismantle it; everything was created with such effort: these geriatric units, these child and adolescent psychiatry units. These are wards that have our equipment and that continue to work hard despite the pandemic. There are patients there, too! If you have an order from above to create such a ward, please let us know how many beds need to be purchased, and we will buy them

According to onet.pl, WOŚP bought nearly 1,300 new beds for patients infected with coronavirus. The new beds will go to 80 cities, including Bolesławiec.
