Around one hundred people on foot, motorcyclists and car drivers protested on Friday against the tightening of abortion laws. The march took place in Bolesławiec for the eighth time.
On the Bolesławiec Women's Strike website, we read that the protests are not the cause of the rise in COVID_19 infections, but rather the incompetent policy of the PiS government. Let us recall that the Institute for Market and Social Research Foundation (IBRiS) conducted a survey for Wirtualna Polska concerning support for demonstrations taking place during the pandemic. Asked whether, in the current epidemiological situation, protests should continue in the streets of Polish cities, 60.5 percent of respondents answered “yes”.
Dear “Walkers”
Today, Friday (November 6), we are once again going for a short walk around the city. The PiS authorities want to wait us out; they want to drown our anger in fear of the epidemic. Why? To retain power, so they can continue making “deals” like the ventilator affair (there is no money, no equipment, and the man does not even face charges). Jarek and company do not care about your health, your lives, your children or your families. They care only about protecting their own asses. Today, when hospitals lack everything—beds, ventilators, ambulances, staff and oxygen—Duda is rejecting an offer of help from Germany.
Today, when Owsiak and the Great Orchestra are supplying hospitals with 1,100 (sic!) intensive-care beds, PiS is funding 308 limousines and a giant screen costing half a “million” for the National Hospital. Today, when PiS does not know how to cover up its own neglect, it is using its party television station to try to shift responsibility for infections onto the protesters. Look at when the sharp rise in infections began—it is not the protests that are to blame. It is Jarek and company who, instead of preparing us for the second wave, focused all their energy on forcing Andrzej through, and then on fighting over positions, grandly called the “reconstruction of the government”. It is Jarek and company who allow the CBA, during a crisis, to buy BMW cars with the “fully loaded” option! It is Jarek and company who give Kurski’s television PLN 2 billion a year for five years! It is Jarek and company who, disregarding anyone’s opinion, push laws through at night without any consultation! It is Jarek and company who insult, abuse and divide Poles into a better and worse sort; to quote them: “those who do not support the good change are an animal element”!
Every one of you can add your own brick to the protest. Come, drive your car, invite your friends, pass the information on, write a comment under the post, etc. Everyone can do something. We will not change Poland or drive this Jarek out of his den if we passively watch.
See you at 5 p.m. If anyone does not make it in time, they can join along the route. Remember to keep your distance and wear masks. Look after one another! Let us not give Jarek reasons to blame us for his mistakes! We have power! We have the power to change something in our Poland!
