On Saturday (October 7), the TOP volleyball players played their first match in the fourth-division volleyball competition. The Bolesławiec team’s opponent was AZS Kolegium Karkonoskie Jelenia Góra. In the first set, the players from Jelenia Góra were merely spectators as TOP played well. The Bolesławiec team never once relinquished the lead and comfortably won 25:15.
At the beginning of the second set, the play was even. Until the score reached 8:8, the teams battled point for point. Later in the set, TOP gained an advantage and held on to it until the end, winning 25:16. The visitors made a great many errors: attacks into the net, missed serves, as well as misunderstandings and giving away “free balls”. In the middle of the third set, the TOP players began to play chaotically. With TOP leading 16:12, Bolesławiec coach Bogusław Mienculewicz called a timeout. The visitors managed to make up the deficit and take the score to 17:18. Fortunately, the Bolesławiec team regained the lead and confidently won the third set 25:20.
After the first round of matches, TOP Bolesławiec are top of the competition table.
