Szymon Hołownia’s movement:
As a civic movement, we also devote considerable attention to those who, for fear of infection, have had to significantly limit their daily activities and functioning in society. Therefore, since October 20, the “Neighborhood Team” project has been operating again; it proved highly successful in the spring during the epidemic.
The movement’s leader in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Ewa Kaczmarek:
In the Poland 2050 Movement, we believe that solidarity with weaker people is what builds the identity and strength of our society. That is why we are launching the second edition of the “Neighborhood Team” campaign, offering help to seniors with shopping during the pandemic.
Volunteers from the Poland 2050 Association organize assistance for older people throughout the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. The assistance is free of charge. The Association:
Help for seniors mainly involves shopping for essential food products and medicines. In individual situations, volunteers help with other everyday matters that older or ill people, or those at risk of infection with the virus, cannot handle on their own.
To receive help from the Association’s volunteers, simply contact the Lower Silesian office by phone at 500 674 213 on business days between 12:00–18:00 and provide the person on duty with information about your needs. Volunteers working closest to the indicated location will then contact those in need.
The Poland 2050 Association also invites registered and new volunteers to cooperate in the campaign—the volunteer registration process is very intuitive and quick via www.polska2050.pl:
Simply declare your willingness to participate in the campaign by email, in a Messenger message or through social media. You can also join the effort by printing leaflets with information about the campaign and putting them up in your neighborhood. Posting leaflets in local grocery stores works well. Seniors who need help call the number on the leaflet, and our Secretary takes the request and passes it on to the volunteer who lives closest.
Alongside the local voivodeship assistance campaign, an email inbox is also operating for all questions and concerns related to the increasing number of infections. People who need support in a difficult situation or need a problem related to the epidemic publicized are asked to send their questions by email to pomoc@polska2050.pl.
The Poland 2050 Association will make every effort to help find a solution.
