I have been waiting for the results since Friday; I know that some people have been waiting since Thursday. I can afford to stay at home until I receive the results, but not everyone is in such a comfortable situation. I would like to know what is causing this.
What is causing the problem that people are waiting so long for their test results? The laboratory is overloaded. As istotne.pl reported, Kamil Barczyk, head of the Bolesławiec hospital, said that all laboratories are overloaded. According to the director, what could help in this matter would be either expanding the laboratory or establishing new ones. He added that the Bolesławiec ZOZ is the only facility in the area of Wałbrzych, Jelenia Góra and Legnica that performs such a large number of tests. (The laboratory has 1,200 samples to examine, while its capacity is 700.)
The situation may improve within two weeks. Additional points are to be opened during that time. This is intended to give the ZOZ twice the processing capacity.

He explained in our publication that the queues result from the large number of people who want or need to find out whether they are infected with coronavirus, while only a few people work at the sample collection point.
