Sometimes, however, it is difficult to make your apartment stand out from the proposals available in furniture catalogues. An excellent and somewhat forgotten way nowadays is to set up an aquarium at home.
Why is it worth having an aquarium at home?
Of course, the first thing to point out is that an aquarium is a beautiful decoration for any living room. It certainly introduces a considerable touch of exoticism, greenery and originality. After all, not everyone can boast such a decoration at home. Surely, there are few things more calming than watching colourful fish swimming in the water. It is a very relaxing activity that will make the evening more pleasant for every member of the household after a hard day at work. Lamps installed around the tank can also make it an original source of light, with the water's surface shimmering.
How much do aquarium sets cost?
Unfortunately, the costs of setting up such a decoration are usually not small at all. Of course, aquarium sets can be found at various prices. The cost depends primarily on what is included in the set. A set including aquarium filters will certainly be more expensive than one without such water purifiers. The capacity of the tank also affects the price. The market offers small aquarium sets designed for around 150 litres, as well as very large ones holding up to 500 litres of water. The choice of capacity depends on how many fish one wants to keep and which aquarium plants and decorative elements one plans to introduce into the tank. Consequently, the price of aquarium sets can range from several to even a dozen or so thousand złoty.
Which aquarium plants should you invest in?
It should be remembered that equipping an aquarium cannot be limited solely to adding water and fish. The vegetation mentioned earlier is also essential. It primarily serves as an oxygen generator and a stabiliser of the aquatic environment, while also inhibiting algae growth. People who are just beginning their adventure with fishkeeping should certainly avoid introducing plants with demanding requirements into the aquarium. In this case, inexpensive aquarium plants that are easy to keep in good condition will work better. These could include, for example, Acorus gramineus or Lobelia cardinalis. It should be remembered that these plants serve as a kind of natural aquarium filters, which is why it is worth learning about their requirements regarding light intensity and water temperature.
