Kasia describes herself as a champion of debuts. The personal trainer took first place and won a gold medal in the bikini fitness category, Class B, at the San Marino Cup. She also took third place in the true beginner category. She also stood on the podium at a competition in Spain, and won bronze at the Italian Championships on Sunday, October 18.

We spoke with Katarzyna Janowiec about passion, sweat, tears and victories, as well as how 2020 could become the happiest year of her life. We also asked Katarzyna, as a personal trainer, how to prepare for success and stay motivated in life.

Katarzyna Janowiec:

I live in Italy. I am very proud to come from Bolesławiec. I always gladly return to Poland and to my city.

If you want to achieve the right physique, you have to train all year round and follow a diet. You have to make sacrifices and give up your previous habits.

When working on your physique becomes a passion, it starts to bring you pleasure.

On stage, I show myself at my very best. I fulfil myself in the federation in which I compete.

When I heard about the epidemic, I was slightly panicked. During the restrictions in Italy, gyms were closed, among other places. We could not leave our apartments. One person from each family could go shopping. I came to terms with it and thought about what I could do. I arranged equipment for home, and thanks to it I was able to continue training.

When I returned to the gym, I felt relieved that I had managed to get through it all and could continue exercising. Later, I won a medal in San Marino.

If you have a vision or a goal, do not wait—get moving. You do not have to know everything right away.

You cannot give up despite difficulties; you have to fight.

My workout lasts two hours. I train six times a week.

You have to reckon with the fact that the road to success is difficult.

If you exercise only until it becomes pleasant, there will be no results. You have to leave your comfort zone.

Long-distance running taught me that there are no bad conditions for running. Running toughened me up. Then my passion for the gym began, along with the idea of stepping on stage and winning.

The most important thing is to fight for your dreams. It is a waste of time to keep wondering.
