The incident occurred on Sunday, October 4. Volunteer firefighters from Trzebień:

[...] at 8:47 a.m., our two crews were dispatched to a road accident on provincial road no. 297 in Kozłów. Upon arriving at the scene, it turned out that a passenger car had struck the side of a truck, damaging its 700-liter fuel tank.

The firefighters added:

Fortunately, no one was injured, but a very large amount of diesel fuel spilled onto the road. Our operations involved securing the scene, limiting the fuel leak, and pumping diesel from the damaged tank into containers.

They also noted:

Because the road authority did not arrive at the scene, our duties also included making the road usable again. The crews’ operations lasted approximately three hours. The road was blocked during that time.

Firefighters from Bolesławiec and Trzebień, as well as a police patrol, took part in the operation.
