Piotr Roman, the mayor of Bolesławiec, informed councillors during his report on actions taken between council sessions that PLN 29,550 had been allocated to “securing the needs of homeless people”. He added that 15 men are currently staying at the Bolesławiec shelter, while the number of homeless people in the City of Ceramics is 52, according to calculations by the municipal police.
As the mayor stressed, a large proportion of the homeless people mentioned had come to Bolesławiec from various parts of Poland, including Polkowice and… Zamość. The mayor wondered whether the City of Ceramics had some kind of magnet attracting such people.
He also mentioned a homeless man who had come to us from Szklarska Poręba and who performed gymnastics every day in the Market Square.
P. Roman: “We’ll see what happens next.”
