Over the weekend (23–25 October), Sopot hosted celebrations marking the 15th anniversary of the founding of the Association of Young Democrats. The association’s activists from Bolesławiec took part in the celebrations: Wojciech Kasprzyk, Grzegorz Przybylski and Przemysław Tyndyra .
The ceremonial National Convention of the SMD was attended by almost 300 guests from Poland and abroad, including Prime Minister Donald Tusk, ministers, members of parliament, senators, members of the European Parliament, local government officials and delegations from allied political and social organizations. Members of the most important European youth organizations also came to Sopot.
During the ceremony, the Secretary of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Prof. Władysław Bartoszewski, and Member of Parliament Sławomir Nowak, a former chairman of the SMD, were admitted as Honorary Members of the Association of Young Democrats.
