Despite the passage of time, the bonds of friendship formed while carrying out missions together, along with the desire to pay tribute to comrades who fell in service, inspire the commandos to put on their maroon berets and stand shoulder to shoulder before the monument to the fallen soldiers of the 1st Independent Commando Company and the deceased soldiers of the 62nd Special Company.

As every year, a roll call was held punctually at 12:00 noon at the company’s former station. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the General Command of the Branches of the Armed Forces and the Special Forces Component Command, representatives of special units and institutions cooperating with the Association, administrative authorities, and members of historical reconstruction groups cultivating the traditions of special units.

During the roll call, soldiers who had distinguished themselves in cultivating the proud traditions of Polish “Commando” special formations were presented with commemorative gorgets, while soldiers and representatives of units supporting the activities of the Association of Former Soldiers of the 62nd Special Company received commemorative coins.

The ceremony at the monument concluded with the reading of the Roll of Remembrance and the laying of wreaths and bouquets beneath the monument commemorating fallen commandos and deceased soldiers of the 62nd Special Company Commando. The gathering ended with a meeting of members of the Association of Former Soldiers of the 62nd Special Company, after which the commandos visited the graves of deceased comrades resting in the Bolesławiec cemetery.
