This year's start of the school year was unusual. To ensure the students' safety, only first-year students took part in the inauguration of the new school year at the Construction School Complex and II Liceum Ogólnokształcące. Most schools abandoned the official assembly altogether. The ceremonies were also attended by Member of the Bolesławiec County Board Stanisław Chwojnicki and Deputy Head of the Department of Education, Culture and Sport Mariusz Mendocha.
– We are prepared to begin the new school year safely, both for students and teachers – said Mariusz Mendocha, Deputy Head of the Department of Education, Culture and Sport.
During the ceremonial assembly, the principals of II LO and ZSB assured everyone that the schools were ready to begin the new school year and that education would be conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the sanitary inspectorate and the health and education ministries. These guidelines concern general personal hygiene, frequent handwashing, and covering one's mouth when sneezing or coughing. Students will wear masks in shared areas such as corridors and the library.
If a student or teacher falls ill, after obtaining the consent of the governing authority and a positive opinion from the county sanitary inspector, the principal may decide to suspend classes entirely or switch to blended learning.
County schools in Bolesławiec are prepared for the new school year. Students, teachers and staff have been provided with access to protective masks and gloves, and disinfectant dispensers have been installed at the entrances.
