On Saturday (August 8), in their opening regional league match, BKS lost 0–1 (0–0) to Pogoń Świerzawa. The match was decided in the 76th minute. At that point, Robert Cichoń put the ball into the net and secured an away victory for his team.

They played, shot and lost—that is how Saturday’s first-round regional league match, in which BKS hosted Pogoń Świerzawa, can be briefly summed up. During the first 15 minutes, the visitors played boldly, trying to threaten the hosts’ goal. However, as time passed, BKS increasingly took control of the initiative.

But what good was that when the visitors’ goal seemed enchanted to Sebastian Tylutki’s players? Marek Majka tried several times, as did Adrian Puzio, while Adrian Biały and Kuba Kwoczka also had attempts... unfortunately, none of them resulted in a goal. The African heat also made the game more difficult.

If one were to look at the statistics for scoring chances, the hosts had two or even three times as many as the visitors. However, on that hot Saturday afternoon, Świerzawa were more effective and converted one of their few opportunities into a goal. A quickly taken free kick and a shot toward the BKS goal caught the hosts off guard and put Pogoń ahead.

BKS attacked during the final 15 minutes, but it did not change the score. In summary, when it comes to their style of play, build-up and defensive work, things did not look bad. However, the team that scores goals wins the match... Next week will bring an opportunity to make amends.
