Koleje Dolnośląskie have decided to restore further connections on routes that are very popular with passengers. This is another stage in the gradual restoration of rail connections, which began in May this year.

– We are aware that the people of Lower Silesia expect the full network of connections to return as soon as possible, because for many people the service cuts forced on us by the coronavirus continue to make life difficult. We are therefore launching further connections because, although we have not yet fully recovered, we are listening to the voices of our passengers. I would also like to assure you that we are doing everything in our power to get all our trains back on the tracks as soon as possible – comments Damian Stawikowski, president of Koleje Dolnośląskie.

As a result of the fifth stage of restoring connections, the carrier’s operational service level will reach nearly 83% of the pre-epidemic plan.

More trains to Krotoszyn and Wałbrzych

Trains on the restored routes will reach towns throughout the voivodeship. Connections to Krotoszyn, Jelcz-Laskowice, Węgliniec and Legnica, among others, will return to the timetable.

In addition, passengers will be able to use a new Wałbrzych Miasto – Wrocław Główny connection. Trains heading towards Wałbrzych will depart at 13:23, while the return to the capital of Lower Silesia is scheduled for 19:28.

The changes to the timetable will also affect the days on which trains operate. The existing connection from Wrocław Główny (departure at 13:35) to Krotoszyn (arrival at 15:18), along with the return service departing from Krotoszyn station at 16:18, will change the frequency of their services. From 1 August, trains on this route will run daily. The Wrocław Główny (11:31) – Wałbrzych Miasto (12:23) connection will also change, as it will be extended to its final station, Szklarska Poręba Górna.

The full list of changes and the current timetable are available on the KD website.
