At 12:45 p.m., our GBA 2.5/16 unit was dispatched to an oil-based substance spill on kilometer 70 of the A-18 motorway toward Wrocław. Upon arriving at the scene, it turned out that a ruptured fuel tank on a heavy goods vehicle had caused a large diesel fuel spill onto the roadway.
The firefighters add:
Our actions involved securing the scene and limiting the spread of the fuel.
Fortunately, no one was injured. In addition to the uniformed personnel from Trzebień, the operation involved firefighters from the County Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec and the Specialist Chemical and Ecological Rescue Group in Legnica, as well as officers from the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.

On July 28, 2020, at 12:45 p.m., units of the Rescue and Firefighting Unit of the County Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec were dispatched to an incident involving a fuel spill onto the A18 motorway near the village of Golnice. Upon reaching the scene, it turned out that a heavy goods vehicle with a damaged fuel tank was standing on the motorway’s emergency lane, from which approximately 200 liters of diesel fuel had leaked.
The Fire Service’s actions involved securing the scene, limiting the leak, and protecting a storm drain and a nearby field from contamination.

The Specialist Chemical and Ecological Rescue Group “Legnica 2” was also dispatched to the scene. Using specialist equipment, it collected the diesel fuel into temporary tanks.
