The ceramic open-air workshop was officially launched on Monday, 27 August. The event, which has been organised continuously in Bolesławiec since 1963, had to be changed because of the coronavirus epidemic. The organiser, Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramic Centre, announced with relief and satisfaction that the pandemic would not interrupt the tradition of the Open-Air Workshop.

As far as possible and in accordance with the applicable epidemiological procedures, this year’s edition will have a local character. Artists from Bolesławiec and the surrounding area were invited to participate, including the Bolesławiec artist who has enjoyed success around the world, Marek Zyga.

The new co-organiser of the 2020 Open-Air Workshop is „Manufaktura Ceramiczna" Andrzej Kowalczyk. The workshop’s commissioner is no longer Mateusz Grobelny. The artists were recruited by a committee advised by Janina Bany-Kozłowska, who in 2015 received one of the highest distinctions awarded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, “Gloria Artis”.
