On Wednesday, October 7, police officers from Bolesławiec and Legnica, together with Military Police and Border Guard officers, conducted the “Safe County” operation. The officers inspected 77 vehicles. They seized five registration certificates due to the poor technical condition of the cars and issued 29 fines.
Moreover, 14 drunk drivers were detained, including one who was subject to a court-ordered driving ban. The 37-year-old record-holder had 2 per mille of alcohol in his system.
The operation is aimed at improving the safety of road users. Police remind drivers that driving while intoxicated is a crime punishable by up to two years in prison.
