Bolesławiec scouts:

Our allies from the US Army, currently stationed in Świętoszów, visited the Watra camp. It was an opportunity to learn about the objectives of their mission. The scouts were able to enter the vehicles, have their photos taken wearing military helmets, and learn interesting facts about serving in the American army.

The instructors, in turn, talked about what scouting looks like in Poland, explained how we organize camps, and presented the history of the organization, including such events as Poland’s struggle for independence, the Battle of Warsaw, and the Warsaw Uprising.

At the end, the scouts sang their favorite song, “Rozwichrzone nad głową,” whose title proved difficult for both the Americans and our instructors to translate into English.

And they added:

We are very grateful for this visit. We already know that our cooperation will not end with a single meeting—one of the soldiers became very interested in our winter camps, and we have already made preliminary arrangements for a joint camping trip.
