Dobrze, że chcą zakazać halloweenowych zabaw?
An anonymous citizen submitted a draft law to the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. The document reads:
Anyone who, on October 31 of a given calendar year, dresses up as a frightening figure, in particular as a skeleton, witch, vampire, devil or another being associated with hell, shall be subject to a penalty restricting their liberty or detention for a period of no less than 15 days [...].
Anyone who, on October 31, walks around knocking on apartment doors, asking for sweets or warning that they will play a malicious prank, shall be subject to a fine of at least 500 złoty or a penalty restricting their liberty.
Members of Parliament will have to consider the initiative in question because Marshal Elżbieta Witek herself set the petition in motion. Details are available at rp.pl.
