After dark, many young people took to the city streets. Wearing costumes, they celebrated Halloween. They were also heading to parties or partying in the city. It was noisy in the market square, near the shopping gallery and in the parks.

Before 10:00 p.m., people in Bolesławiec’s Market Square were alarmed by loud screams. Near the Piast Gate, a group of young men surrounded an older man who appeared to be aggressive toward them. The younger boys tried to drive him away and neutralize him. Shouts indicated that the young people did not want a conflict with the man. However, he resisted them. The bystanders gathered around were unable to determine whether the situation was dangerous and whether the police should be called. After a while, the man visibly calmed down, and the boys dispersed.

There were certainly too few police patrols in the city center today. People passing through the city criticized the lack of both police and Municipal Guard officers. In the late evening, the guards can be active and issue fines for improper parking, but today they were absent from the market square during the conflict between the young people and the man.
