On Thursday, October 1, police officers noticed a car driving without its dipped headlights on. The officers gave the driver a clear signal to stop. The 22-year-old man from Bolesławiec accelerated and began to flee. The police gave chase.
After driving several hundred metres, the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a fence post at a roadside property.
At the time of his detention, the 22-year-old was drunk. An alcohol test showed 1 per mille. The man now faces a sentence of up to two years in prison.
