The accident occurred at around 1:20 p.m. near Osiecznica. According to the report, the man was boating on the Kwisa River in an inflatable boat when he fell into the water. He was unable to swim to the shore. Firefighters were sent to carry out the rescue operation.
When the rescuers arrived, it turned out that the man and the inflatable boat had stopped at a weir (the second weir from the power plant in the direction of Osiecznica). He did not have the strength to get back into the inflatable boat and could only hold on to it to avoid drowning.
After several minutes, the firefighters managed to pull the man out of the water. He was hypothermic. He will be handed over to the emergency medical services.
