We will talk with Antyfacet about freedom—not the kind that means others have the right to define us, but the kind in which we have the right to define ourselves. We will discuss the need for greater understanding of unconventional ways of living and thinking, and what that understanding serves. We will also address the elections and the rule of Prawo i Sprawiedliwość.
“The Supreme Antyfacet of the Republic of Poland,” or NARP for short, is engaged in criticizing and challenging, in everyday life and through specific actions, the Stereotype of the Male Gender Role, because he sees its negative, crippling and limiting impact on men’s quality of life.”
Marcin Boronowski:
Antyfacet was a trademark during the time when I was publicly active in the outlawed field of gender.
At present, I am an Antyfacet in hibernation or hiding, because conditions in the country have changed. Human rights do not work.
Antyfacet is a concept; it is a male person who does not accept gender restrictions. He follows his own path.
Things associated with women and children are supposed to be humiliating for a man and lower his status.
If Louis XIV went out in his outfit into a housing-estate courtyard, he would be beaten up.
Men can either be rulers—in which case they have the right to flamboyant clothing—or soldiers, meaning working people. The latter must wear paramilitary, austere and crude clothes.
We live in times when men are no longer assigned combat functions.
Women’s clothes are more noble and prettier, with more colors and patterns. You can dress more appropriately for the weather, and it is easier to toughen yourself up because such clothes are lighter.
Women are being held by the throat biologically by right-wing regimes.
In terms of customs, clothing and cosmetics, they are in a good position. They can do anything.
I once got Robert Biedroń to put on medium-heeled shoes.
I know men who like walking in such shoes. The problem is finding larger sizes.
I have good relations with my neighbors.
Students recognize me in the city center and say hello to me.
There is hope that people are wiser than that part of the political class that pumps hatred and the conviction that one must fight all kinds of outsiders into their heads.
The real gender ideologues are bishops and politicians who trumpet it in the context of horror.
There is a hidden longing to see what life looks like from that other perspective closed off by taboo.
Let freedom prevail!
