The incident occurred overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday. The 33-year-old entered the store on Małachowskiego Street through a side window. He managed to force open the bars even though he was completely drunk.
Once inside, he knocked over shelves with goods and then took cigarettes and alcohol.
He did not get far with the loot, however. He was so drunk that he fell asleep near another store, where Bolesławiec police found him at around 3:00 a.m. A breathalyzer test showed 3.5 per mille of alcohol.
As Adriana Szajwaj, the police press spokeswoman, told us, the man will be questioned this evening or tomorrow morning.
The losses were initially estimated at at least PLN 2,000. The 33-year-old faces up to 10 years in prison.
