The driver was heading to Bolesławiec from the direction of Zgorzelec. He drove onto the pavement on the bridge, travelled approximately 50 metres and became stuck between the barriers.
Engine oil leaked from the car as a result of the damage. The Fire Service secured the leak to prevent it from flowing into the river.
The man explained that he had fallen asleep and that this was why he drove onto the pavement on the bridge.
