Last year, we reported on the first solo material by JotGie (short for “Jestem Graczem”), a rapper from Nowogrodziec who has been living in Warsaw for several years. The mixtape was titled “Dwa Kolory.” JotGie: “The reception of the first album was good. I would like to thank the listeners for that.”
A kind of summary of the first “solo project” was a music video that premiered on YouTube in the spring. The video was produced by ENC Frame, a company that shoots videos all over the world, including in the United Kingdom and Jamaica. “They came from Łódź to Warsaw. We were quite lucky because the filming took place before the stay-at-home order,” JotGie recalls. About the video, the rapnews.pl portal wrote:
Despite the coronavirus pandemic, our fellow townsman is keeping busy. Among other things, he took part in the Hot 16 Challenge. “I received the nomination from Nowogrodziec; it was a pleasant surprise,” he emphasizes.
What is more, he is currently preparing his second album, which will be titled “Sztos.” “We are eliminating the mistakes from the first album, especially when it comes to quality,” the rapper announces.
The album is due to be released in July, exclusively in digital format. This time, too, it will be an explosive blend of hip-hop and… club music. “I would like to make one more music video, but we will see how the situation develops,” JotGie adds.
