– Almost 70% of all letters have already reached their recipients; the remaining ones should be in mailboxes by the end of May – explains Iwona Kowalska-Matis, ZUS regional press spokesperson in Lower Silesia.

ZUS has already sent almost 6 million notices to recipients. The final 2 million letters are gradually reaching seniors’ mailboxes. ZUS is sending both notices in a single letter to reduce costs. In Lower Silesia, 682,250 people received the “13th pensions” this year. This included 275,000 residents of Wrocław, 249,000 residents of Wałbrzych and 158,000 residents of Legnica. The additional payments were credited to the accounts of approximately 9 million people across the country.
In 2020, indexation amounted to 3.56%. Seniors with the lowest incomes received an increase of PLN 70. The fixed-amount increase applied to people whose monthly payment was up to PLN 1,966.43. Only above this amount will the indexation rate be taken into account – 103.56%.
