The decision to reactivate another batch of connections is part of a broader plan to restore the full railway timetable in the region. The company is working on it in cooperation with the regional government, which is responsible for organising transport in the region.

“Since the first restrictions were introduced, we have been working on a plan to reactivate connections. We know how important rail transport is in Lower Silesia, and in recent days we have seen steadily growing interest in our connections, which translates into gradually increasing passenger numbers,” said Bartłomiej Rodak, press spokesperson for Koleje Dolnośląskie. “We are responding flexibly, analysing each connection individually. This allows us to provide a number of trains that meets passengers’ expectations and take another step towards restoring the full timetable.

Connection restoration plan

The launch of additional trains from 11 May this year is the second stage of Koleje Dolnośląskie’s timetable thaw. The previous change, which took effect on 1 May this year, restored 18 connections, mainly in weekend timetables. The new adjustment will cover a total of 31 connections operating daily and on weekdays.

The number of services between the region’s main cities and Wrocław will increase. Trains connecting the regional capital with Wałbrzych, Świebodzice, Kłodzko, Szklarska Poręba, Bolesławiec, Lubin, Legnica, Jelcz Laskowice, Trzebnica, Bielawa and Lubań Śląski will return to the tracks. These trains will operate daily and on weekdays.

Regional connections will also return to the timetable on the routes from Legnica (departure 4:44) to Lubin (arrival 4:58), from Lubin (departure 18:35) to Legnica (arrival 18:59), from Żary (departure 7:46) to Legnica (arrival 9:05), and from Legnica (departure 9:46) to Żary (11:05).

In all other cases, the timetable changes introduced by the company on 20 March and 19 April 2020 remain in force. The full list of changes and the current timetable are available on the carrier’s website: https://www.kolejedolnoslaskie.pl/wracamy-z-kolejnymi-polaczeniami.
