SP ZOZ in Nowogrodziec:

As of 8 May 2020, the long-term care facilities—the Palliative and Hospice Care Facility and the Care and Treatment Facility operated by SPZOZ—are accommodating a total of 17 people with confirmed coronavirus infections, out of a total of 55 patients. Among the patients who were infected with COVID-19, a group of 8 patients is considered recovered, while another group of 7 patients obtained their first negative test result; swabs will be collected today to confirm the second negative result.

Between the day the first infection was identified and 27 April 2020, the total number of patients decreased by 16, including:

  • 12 people were transferred for hospitalization to the Isolation Ward in Oborniki Śląskie,
  • 7 people were transferred for hospitalization to the Single-Name Hospital in Bolesławiec,
  • 9 people returned after hospitalization: 7 patients from Oborniki Śląskie and 2 patients from the Single-Name Hospital in Bolesławiec,
  • 6 people died, including one person who was not diagnosed with COVID-19.

Medical services are secured by staff who work rotating shifts at the facilities. Volunteers are helping at work, and we express our gratitude to them.

The total number of infections among employees as of 8 May 2020 is 20, out of a total of 24 identified infections. Since the infections among staff were identified, 4 people have been considered recovered, and 6 employees are awaiting test results after receiving their first negative result.

We assure you that we are taking every measure to ensure the safety of our patients and the continuity of our facilities’ operations.
