Road workers are adapting 22 kilometres of national road No. 18, sometimes derisively called “patatajka” or the “road of shame,” to motorway standards. The work is now fully in progress.
Contract signed for another section
A contract has been signed for the reconstruction and adaptation of nearly 12 kilometres of national road No. 18 to motorway standards. This time, it concerns the section beginning at the state border (beyond the bridge over the Nysa Łużycka) and ending 2 km past the Żary Zachód interchange.
The contractor for the investment, worth more than PLN 185 million, will be PORR S.A.
How long will the new investment take?
The time allotted for design work and construction, including obtaining the occupancy permit, is 36 months:
- 17 months – design work, including obtaining the final decision authorizing the execution of the works
- 19 months – construction work.
