The incident occurred on Saturday, April 25, at around 4:00 p.m., in Gościszów (the municipality of Nowogrodziec). Officers from OSP KSRG Nowogrodziec:
[…] we were called to our second intervention of the day. This time, it was to an unconscious person suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning in Gościszów.Upon arrival, our tasks were to evacuate the injured person and provide qualified first aid until the ambulance arrived.
The firefighters add:
A multi-gas detector was used to check the building, where the permissible carbon monoxide level had been exceeded many times over.
The probable cause of the incident was a malfunction of the gas heater.
Firefighters from Bolesławiec and Nowogrodziec, as well as a medical rescue team, took part in the operation.
