We have reported repeatedly on the planned “expansion of the transport system, including the reconstruction of the existing bridge and construction of a new bridge over the Bóbr River along national road no. 94 in Bolesławiec.”
– As part of the project, a natural inventory has already been carried out, on the basis of which an environmental decision will be obtained. In recent weeks, drilling has been performed to facilitate the preparation of geological and engineering documentation, says Magda Szumiata, spokesperson for the Wrocław branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways. – Further documentation will be prepared in the near future, including a pavement structure design, soil investigation documentation, a geotechnical design, construction designs and a water-law report.
The contractual value of the documentation is PLN 760,140.00 gross.
What will be built?
GDDKiA officials:
As part of the project entitled “Expansion of the transport system, including the reconstruction of the existing bridge and construction of a new bridge over the Bóbr River along national road no. 94 (formerly no. 4) in Bolesławiec,” a new bridge over the Bóbr River is planned (to the north of the existing bridge), as well as the reconstruction of the existing bridge.
[...] two parallel, twin bridge structures will be built, each carrying a two-lane roadway, a pavement and a cycle path, ensuring good connections between the two banks of the river not only for motor vehicles, but also for pedestrians and cyclists. At both ends of the bridge crossing, intersections with central islands—so-called turbo roundabouts—are planned, with dimensions ensuring smooth traffic flow and complete freedom to choose the direction of travel.
They also add:
Bus bays will be built at the western intersection, enabling public transport to be used safely while improving its operation.
